The Standard Recruitment Process is typically targeted towards attracting qualified candidates and encouraging maximum possible job seekers to apply.
The FNMI goes beyond the Standard Recruitment Process and not only introduces Indigenous Youth to the Oil & Gas Industry but also trains and certifies youth to succeed in this industry through our Partners at Al Kebar Petroleum Services.
This makes it possible to build a proportionate pool of talented Indigenous Peoples in a tight job market by filling roles for the present and future requirements of the oil and gas industry.
This well-planned and thoughtfully crafted equal opportunity recruitment process helps our team raise interests while focusing on engaging interested youth for maximum conversions.
The FNMI’s Recruitment Lifecycle consists of 8 Interrelated Steps which are as follows:

- Preparing a Job Description
- Indigenous Talent Search
- Counselling, Screening & Shortlisting
- Training & Certifying
- Interviewing & Inspiring
- Evaluation & Employment Offer
- Evaluation & Offer of Employment
The objective of the FNMI is to ensure that all segments of society can benefit from the opportunities that flow from trade.
This means providing equal opportunities for Indigenous Peoples that may already be at a disadvantage, including Women & Youth.
According to Statistics Canada, the Indigenous population is young with an average age of 32.1 Years in 2016 — almost a decade younger than the Non-Indigenous Population of 40.9 Years.
It makes sense that in order to further an inclusive trade agenda, Indigenous youth need to be considered.
